Understanding Scalp Health
What your scalp is trying to tell you;

Your scalp is a living ecosystem - a delicate balance of microorganisms (scalp microbiome), natural oils (sebum) and immune responses. When those elements are balanced, your hair looks healthy, grows well and the scalp looks and feels comfortable. When they are out of balance, you may experience oiliness, dryness, itch, flaking and or inflammation.

Scalp Microbiome: Friendly bacteria and yeasts protect the skin barrier. Over cleaning, harsh chemicals and/or antibiotic use can upset this microbiome balance to cause irritation and or flaking.

Sebum Balance: Sebum lubricates hair and skin. Too little = dry, flaky scalp. Too much = greasy scalp and clogged follicles. Hormone balance, diet, stress and product buildup all affect your sebum production.

Inflammation Causes: Allergens, irritation from harsh surfctants, infections (fungal or bacteria), autoimmune conditions (like psoriasis), physical stress (tight hairstyles, friction) and mental stress create inflammation that feels like burning, itching or soreness.

Consult a physician if you have severe pain, bleeding, large patches of hair loss or a scalp condition that doesn't improve with holistic treatment in about 4 weeks.
